Rita Woods
Co-sponsored by the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library.
Every story starts with the seed of an idea and, with any luck, grows into something bigger. But regardless of what kind of fiction you write or read: space opera, medieval quest, dystopian future, romance, dystopian future space romance, one fact remains: there has to be a core truth, at the heart of your story.
We will discuss where these story seeds come from and how different (or not) they eventually become from what finally appears on the shelf. We will also explore how much of the writer finds its way onto the page and how writers decide what to keep and what to throw away.
Facts vs. Fiction.
Truth vs. Truth.
Feel free to bring your story seeds to brainstorm.
